Recreation - Fishing & Diving: at the Whitianga self-catering holiday home by the ocean.

Fishing off the wharf, fishing off the rocks, fishing off the boat, fishing off the beach. So many opportunities are available at the Front Beach self-catering holiday home. Mackerel, Snapper, Kahawai, Kingfish, John Dory, Terakihi, Mau Mau and a range of other species are within reach. Charter boat fishing trips to Mercury Bay can be booked at Whitianga. Deep-sea charters are also available.

Just around the corner, a short walk along the beach from the Front Beach seaside rental home is Lighthouse Point, a rocky outcrop next to the Whitianga Harbour entrance. This favorite fishing spot is situated close to deeper water of the harbour channel and mussel beds.

Mercury Bay is a diving adventure playground. There are an extraordinary number of snorkel and scuba diving spots and marine reserves to explore. Both coastal areas and outer islands offer clear water and deep water. The Mercury Island group, Red Mercury Island, Castle Rock are just some of the offshore locations favoured by divers.

Whitianga offers an excellent range of equipment and support services for fishing and diving, including compressed air and diving charters.
